Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 8 oz linguine
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning, (or to taste)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add linguine and cook until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides with Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and butter. Once hot, place the steak in the pan and sear for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer for desired doneness. Add minced garlic during the last minute for flavor.
  4. Transfer the steak to a cutting board, tent with foil, and let it rest while you make the sauce.
  5. In the same skillet, melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Pour in the heavy cream and stir in cream cheese until melted and smooth.
  7. Add Parmesan, mozzarella, and Cajun seasoning. Stir until melted, creating a thick and glossy sauce. Add a splash of pasta water if needed to loosen it.
  8. Toss in the cooked linguine and stir to coat evenly in the sauce.
  9. Slice the rested steak against the grain into thick strips.
  10. Plate the pasta first, then arrange sliced Cajun steak on top. Drizzle any remaining sauce over steak and garnish with chopped parsley.
