  • 400g flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 250g egg noodles
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • Vegetable oil for cooking
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • cup beef stock or water
  • tsp chili flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Boil water in a pot and cook the egg noodles until tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the sauces: soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, chili flakes (if desired), and beef stock or water.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Sear the marinated beef until browned; remove from the wok.
  5. Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the same wok; sauté briefly before adding broccoli. Cook until vibrant green.
  6. Return the beef to the wok along with the cooked noodles and prepared sauce; toss well until everything is heated through.
  7. Serve immediately.
